"Every song I have translated is well translated, the one who works on the very difficult songs with me is Dee Shipman. I know her telephone number by heart, and her fax. It goes back and forth - 'No! I don't like this word!' And she comes back and says 'Because you don't understand English!' So I have to convince her and she has to convince me, and the rapport is fantastic."

Doing It
(Dee Shipman / Charles Aznavour)

Some girls are morally too weak
So when they see a great physique
They fantasise, but never speak
A silent ethical defence

As if to walk up to the guy
And whisper intimately “Hi
I really fancy you tonight”
May have a dire consequence.!

He’ll find it flattering at first
But when the etiquette’s reversed
Most people always think the worst
And they’ll condemn her through and through

One rule for woman, one for man
That’s never been the way I am
And frankly I don’t give a damn
I do it when I feel like doing it……..!

Some girls behave like virgin flirts
Lower their gaze and hold their skirts
A little teasing never hurts
When men undress you with their eyes

But though the power may be sweet
To win too soon becomes defeat
Sometimes it’s better to retreat
That isn’t weakness, only wise

No giving in with too much haste
To any stranger’s pretty face
My God, just think of the disgrace
Don’t people love to misconstrue…..!

One rule for woman, one for man
That’s never been the way I am
And frankly I don’t give a damn
I do it when I feel like doing it……….!

Some girls are timid, yet for sure
Their thoughts are anything but pure
When hunks deliver to their door
Their mouths are dry, their palms are wet

But though imagination flows
They keep their dressing-gowns tight closed
No blushing breast or bottom shows
They feel their nakedness a threat

They never pull him to his knees
Or a soft welcoming settee
And simply make love honestly
No ties, or turning of the screw

One rule for woman, one for man
That’s never been the way I am
And frankly I don’t give a damn
I do it when I feel like doing it………!

So fellas drop the knowing winks
Don’t grin and judge me, for it’s true
What every other woman thinks
It’s only I who dare admit...l...do !
